Thank you for your interest in Solarize Hastings-Dobb Ferry. This program is now CLOSED.
Solarize Hastings-Dobbs Ferry is a unique program that uses a tiered-pricing structure, town-supported education and outreach and one competitively selected installer to offer quality solar electric systems to homeowners and commercial property owners. The more residents sign up for Solarize, the more the cost comes down.
Thanks to Solarize Hastings-Dobbs Ferry, 85 more homes in the two villages will be generating their own solar power in coming months. These 85 homes represent over 500 KW of solar power and will produce over 550,000 kWh per year of clean, renewable energy, significantly reducing the homeowners’ electric bills and reducing demand from the electric grid. Over the previous 12 years, 35 solar photovoltaic systems had been installed throughout Hastings and Dobbs Ferry; with the addition of the new solar systems, the Solarize campaign will have more than tripled the number of solar homes in the two communities. More than 475 homeowners requested information about the opportunity to install solar, and installers conducted more than 200 site visits to evaluate homes’ solar potential.
Congratulations, Hastings and Dobbs Ferry!
“Hastings has a deep and long-term commitment to sustainability, and we believe this is the moment to maximize the opportunities and the numbers of homes and businesses adding solar energy.” – Mayor Peter Swiderski, Village of Hastings-on-Hudson
“Dobbs Ferry is pleased to bring the benefits of solar energy – cost savings and clean power – to our residents and businesses through Solarize Hastings-Dobbs Ferry. With installations on our own municipal facilities, we know how well it works!” – Mayor Hartley Connett, Village of Dobbs Ferry
“The site inspection was a very pleasant experience. Solarize Westchester and Sunrise Solar Solutions gave me choices as to how to pay for the panels, and it will take only a couple of days to install them. The environment is very important to me—with weather and climate change, everybody has to do their part.” – Marge Apel, Hastings Village Trustee, the first resident to sign up
